5  ANOVAs for repeated measures and mixed designs

5.1 Learning outcomes

After viewing the tutorial materials and following along with the demonstration, you can:

  1. Set-up, run and interpret ANOVAs for repeated-measures (RM) and mixed designs
  2. Check the assumptions of these tests

5.2 Datasets

This demonstration uses the dataset PastryBirdsMixed which you can download here. The file contains (fictional) data which look at sausage roll (saucijzenbroodje) preference in birds from the Corvid family. This is a 3 x 2 x 2 mixed design: IV1 (between-subjects) is Bird (Crow, Jackdaw, or Magpie); IV2 (within-subjects) is Baker (Albert Heijn/AH or Kiosk); IV3 (within-subjects) is Filling (Meat or Vegatarian). The DV is the number of times the bird pecked at the sausage roll upon presentation.
